UHT to invest USD60 million in Ukrainian WiMAX: CommsUpdate : TeleGeography Research

Ukrainian High Technologies (UHT), an affiliate company of Russia’s Alfa Group, plans to invest between USD60 million and USD80 million in WiMAX-based broadband services in Ukraine in the next four years. UHT, previously owned by broadcaster Ukraine TV, plans to sign up 5,000 WiMAX users by the end of this year, and hopes to have 300,000 subscribers to the service by the end of 2010. UHT launched WiMAX under the Alternet brand name in Kiev and Kharviv in November 2005.
